First Impressions 12: Sports Broadcasters (Sports Night & Brockmire)

TV SHOWCASE | First Impressions Season 1 Episode 12

On this episode of First Impressions, we’re going dive into the world of sports broadcasting.

First up, a behind-the-scenes look at the team producing a live late-night day-in-review sports show. It’s none other than Aaron Sorkin’s Sports Night (1998). A fast-paced, quick-witted ensemble comedy that helped pioneer the walk-and-talk filming style that Sorkin is known for.

Then, we’re going to hop over to the world of Jim Brockmire, a disgraced and broken-down ex-baseball announcer trying to make a comeback. Sound depressing? Well, it’s not. Created by Hank Azaria, the famous voice actor from The Simpsons, Brockmire (2017) is a crude, sex and drug-fueled comedy that doesn’t shy away from the absolute worst in people in an ever-changing world. Feel free to laugh with and at Jim Brockire.

Now let’s Play Ball!
